David Michael Barrack, a man who has risen from very poor circumstances to an enviable position in the world by his own efforts entirely, lives on a 50-acre tract, part of the Fountain Rock farm, situated a-half mile south of Walkersville, on the Frederick turnpike. He was born near the Glade Cemetery, on the old Barrack mansion farm, near Walkersville, November 5, 1841. His parents were Jacob and Catharine (Smith) Barrack.
