John L. Green, senior member of the firm of Garber and Green, successors to Eugene Sponseller, at the Pioneer Livery Stables, in Frederick, Md., son of Joseph D. and Maria C. (Wachter) Green, both deceased, was born in Lewistown, Frederick County, Md., January 23, 1872.
Mr. Green’s ancestors were Germans. His great-grandfather, George Green, was one of the earliest settlers of Frederick County, where he married and spent his whole life. Among his children was a son named Douglas.
