John McElfresh Griffith, deceased, was a man of high standing in his community and possessed of many good traits of character. He was born at Clarksburg, Montgomery County, Md., June 20, 1827. His parents were Capt. Nacy and Ruth (McElfresh) Griffith.
Nacy Griffith secured his title from being the head of a company of home militia. He was engaged in the mercantile business at Clarksburg, Md., about the time of Harrison’s campaign, 1840. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and voted the …
